Daytona 500 pole position for Danica a marketing and sales dream

Posted: February 23, 2013

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) –
When Danica Patrick took the pole position for the 55th running of the Daytona 500, she made history as the first woman to ever do it.

She also made dreams come true for NASCAR, Daytona International Speedway and vendors who all hope to cash in on the extra attention the feat will bring.

FOX 35’s Tom Johnson spent the day at the track talking to people about the “Danica Effect.”

NC teen visiting Daytona Speedway could be the next Danica

Posted: February 23, 2013

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) –
Annabeth Barnes is pretty, young and a terror on the track. The comparisons to Daytona 500 pole sitter Danica Patrick are natural.

At just 17, Barnes has already won more than 200 races, if you start counting when she began racing go carts at age 6. No matter how you look at it, Barnes seems poised to be a racing star one day.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Posted: January 2, 2013

I can’t believe Daytona’s just around the corner. I’m sitting around, chomping at the bit to get the 2013 season underway. We had a great year in 2012, traveling to five different tracks. It was an awesome experience for me. I love my home track but cherish the opportunity of driving at new venues. New tracks meant new competition and a completely different tire than the one I learned to race on. We were competitive at all the new places, setting poles and putting ole Black Betty out front where she’s happiest.  It was great to finish the 2012 season with a win at Caraway Speedway on October 14th. I couldn’t have made a single lap all year, without all the wonderful people that support me. I have an awesome group of sponsors, never-ending support from my fans and a ton of people behind the scenes that do all the heavy lifting for me. I’m wishing all of you a wonderful, blessed, happy 2013.  “Be your best, forget the rest.” — Annabeth

10.20.12 – An Amazing Week At The NASCAR ‘Drive For Diversity’ Combine.

Posted: October 20, 2012

As you may know, this past Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, I had the privilege of competing at the 2012 NASCAR Drive for Diversity (D4D) Combine in Langley, VA. D4D is basically a three-day tryout for a spot on the 2013 Rev Racing team.  Seventeen individuals were invited – 10 women and 7 men – all very talented drivers. The entire experience was amazing, from bonding and competing with the other drivers to learning from the Rev Racing Team to just getting behind the wheel and giving it all I had.

Later today, we will post some links to some stories that covered the Drive for Diversity Combine.

I’m very thankful to have been a part of it, and thankful to Rev Racing, NASCAR, Toyota, and everyone who made the combine possible.

News as it happens. Until then, I’ll keep chasing the dream. Thank you all for your love and support.  You all inspire and uplift me more than you can know —

Annabeth
